Major Updating Done

If you have been following along, you will have noticed a bunch of changes to the web site, as promised in my first blog post. I've spent the last few weeks getting the final touches installed in the Apps, notably the Apple help, automatic updating, and licensing code. Now that these are done, I've chosen the final names for the three Apps. My original choices turned out not to be so original, and would be hard to find. After thinking about a bunch of other names (nothing cute that I could come up with) I decided to preface the names with FTran to hint these are Fortran tools. A search for anything starting with these prefixes doesn't bring anything up at all, so I figure this will make the Apps easy to find, if a little longer than I would like.

The last step will be to get the final file hosting and processing going. I have no idea how long that will take, but I suspect a couple of weeks to make sure everything works right. Every step of this process I have learned new things that have, of course, taken longer than I had hoped. In the end, I am doing my best to make sure that the v1.0 of these three Apps are easy to install, maintain and use right away. We've been using FTranProjectBuilder and FTranEdit for a while now for a number of projects. Most of the new work has been on bug fixes and getting those final touches added.

So, how will you know that everything is ready? I'll announce it here, of course, but when you see the (Beta) gone that will be it!
